Three Days of Clothing Optional Peace @ DoLittle Pastures Farm
Aug 31 @ 4:55 am – 5:55 am

DoLittle Pastures Farm Invites you to Three Days of Clothing Optional Peace and Joy! Join us for 1, 2 or all 3 days at this family-friendly community event.
Last time we met at DoLittle Pastures Farm was “World Naked Gardening Day”. We had a fantastic time and felt welcome the moment we arrived. We also did some naked gardening. There is just something about digging in the dirt that is therapeutic and digging in the dirt naked is still more therapeutic. This experience brings you even closer to nature, the sun and breeze on your skin is wonderful. Then we enjoyed a lunch of grilled turkey sandwiches, Eric Pickles, and pickled asparagus. Everything was excellent. That Thanksgiving turkey from freezer section doesn’t even compare to how delicious a free-range turkey is.
This time we’ll be enjoying Three Days of Clothing Optional Peace, Joy, Pressing Apple cider, Natural Living, Potlucks, and Music.
We have several apple trees or bring your favorite apples for pressing. “BYOJ” (Bring Your Own Jug). Join us Labor Day weekend. We’ll have a potluck lunch and dinner. We’ll gather together in the evening for amusements and merry-making…bring instruments, songs, stories, and obscure talents!
“Why gather apples then press them to cider naked?”
It’s fun! As nudists, we know doing actives naked always makes it things more fun. Joining together we celebrate the freedom of nudism, the victories of summer.
Picking and pressing apples into cider is not only a simple joy, being a nudist reminds us that we can be honest with who we are and discover a closer bond to mother earth. A chance to awaken primitive instincts long lost in our modern lives.
Skinny dipping? Crabtree Creek awaits your plunge! Discover the perfect spot to recharge in nature, rest a spell or undertake a spiritual retreat.
Campsites are available, for more information about campsite go to: https://www.hipcamp.com/oregon/crabtree-creek-com-ty-homestead/the-homestead-on-crabtree-creek
You’re welcome to just wander the 80 acres of forest and meadows and explore the rustic but well-marked trails with multiple access points to Crabtree Creek.
Please carpool if possible, parking is limited to 10-12 cars.
RSVP to Eric: (805) 423-5462 or tree4yew@gmail.com

Threemile Lake in Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area @ Tahkenitch Dunes - Threemile Lake North Trailhead US-101 · Gardiner, OR
Sep 7 @ 11:00 am

Details
This fun hike south of Florence takes us to a quiet and relatively secluded freshwater lake, tucked away between expansive ocean dunes and an enchanted second-growth forest of spruce, hemlock, and shore pine. The lake’s northern tip features a nice little sandy beach where we can picnic, swim, toss a frisbee and indulge in whatever beach games we have in mind, or simply lounge about and enjoy the natural scenery. It’s also a good spot to view wildlife.

The Threemile Lake Trail through the forest to the lake itself is about 3 miles (6 miles roundtrip). The ocean is 1/2 mile beyond the lake. This hike is considered moderately difficult; there are elevation changes and a few steep portions, and walking on sand makes distances seem longer.

We have the option of doing a slightly lengthier, 6.5 mile loop by connecting with the Tahkenitch Dune Trail. This route takes us along the beach for about 1.5 miles, past the mouth of Tahkenitch Creek, and through the pines and dunes back to the trailhead. Either way we can expect to be out for roughly 5 hours, give or take.

The Tahkenitch Dune – Threemile Lake Trail system sees light to moderate use. Being a Saturday we’ll likely encounter some other hikers.

Trailhead parking requires a $5 day use fee per vehicle, or federal lands recreation pass (Northwest Forest Pass, National Parks “America The Beautiful” Pass, or Oregon Coast Passport).

Trails Map: https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5427036.pdf
Photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/4Bcy1khON87LFops1

WHAT TO BRING:
Come prepared for a day at the coast––food, water, sunscreen, sunglasses, sand and water-friendly footwear, wind protection, towel. A sit pad or blanket is nice to have. Mosquito/bug repellent (just in case). Never hurts to pack the Ten Essentials.

Naked Nature Walk at Baskett Slough Wildlife Refuge @ Baskett Slough Wildlife Refuge
Sep 8 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Details
This loop trail. Length: 3.2 miles, walking time: under 2 hours. Starts at the parking area located at Smithfield and Livermore Road on the north side of the refuge. Begining with a walk up a gravel road a short distance to the banks of Morgan Lake. The trail borders the edge of a farm field as you start your way up the backside of Baskett Butte. Hike along the trail you will get good views of the north part of the refuge, seeing all of Morgan Lake and Moffitti Marsh.
Next the Rich Guadgno Loop Trail, will add another mile. Last summer we walked it naked. A signal track trail winding through a mix coniferous forest that includes Oregon white oak. In the spring, there should several optunities to view migratory songbirds in the trees as you make your way through the woodlands. The Rich Guadgno Platform is located on the south side of Baskett Butte. This part of the refuge has more traffic so you’ll probably want to cover up or keep an eye out for textile visitors. There are great views of the wetlands that encompass the southern part of the refuge.
Walking down the north side of Baskett Butte the trail will connect with the Moffitti Marsh Trail leading back to Smithfield Road. A second lap is always possible.
I’m expecting the weather to be in the upper 70 and sunny.
In the early afternoon the reserve is usually pretty much deserted, other people out walking can be easily spotted in the open spaces giving us plenty of time to cover up. We have never had a bad experience with other people walking in the reserve, even meet other nudist out walking.
Contact me with any questions.

Naked Nature Walk at Baskett Slough Wildlife Refuge @ Finley Wildlife Refuge
Sep 30 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Wandering bare will be hosting: “The Fare Well to Summer Natural Walk” at Finley Wildlife Refuge. On Sunday, September 29th at 2:00 PM in the afternoon. This should be a sensational walk with the fall colors, the warm sun, and the cool breeze. This walk is about just being naked, the fun and adventure of being naked on a sunny afternoon.
Let’s try to make the final natural walk of the summer memorable. This walk will have 3 legs. Each trail will begin and end at the same general area. Walk as many legs you like, each trail starts and ends with a short walk to the starting point.
We will enter the reserve on the Beaver & Cattail Ponds trailhead located at a turnout off Bruce Road.
Beaver & Cattail Ponds Trail, 1 mile each way.
Walk up a tree-lined service road to an old rock quarry site. Then through the Maple Knoll Research Natural Area to Beaver Pond, then to the interior service road.
The first leg is the “Campbell Lake Trail” about 2.5 to 3 miles. This trail runs through the reserve and ties all the trails together. Walking through fields and around Campbell Lake. Offers panoramic views of the reserve.
The second leg is the Mill Hill Loop Trail, 2.5 miles round trip.
This up-and-down trail takes you through many different forest types: oak, woodland, mature maple, and Douglas fir. Look for wood ducks or beavers on Gray Creek, or rest on one of the benches to watch for elk, deer, and other wildlife
The third leg is the Pigeon Butte Trail, 2.6 miles round trip
Pigeon Butte is the highest point in the Refuge and allows for great views of the Willamette Valley.

National Naked Hiking Day: at Cascade Head @ Cascade Head Rainforest Trailhead
Jun 21 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Due to the coronavirus, The Nature Conservancy Society has closed the Cascade Head trail until further notice. I will reschedule the Cascade Head Naked Hike when the trail has reopened.
June 21 is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, the start of summer and National Naked Hiking Day. We’ll celebrate National Naked Hiking Day at Cascade Head – Rainforest Trail. This trail runs north to south within the Cascade Head Scenic Research Area. The Rainforest Trail is steep in areas 7 miles in and out with a 1200-foot elevation gain The Sitka Spruce-Western Hemlock rain forest here has been studied by foresters since 1934. This trail is less crowded than the Cascade Head trail in the area and it is entirely inland and has no viewpoints. Mid-way on the trail near the headwaters of Calkins Creek, there remains a grove of six-foot diameter Sitka spruce. The trail has a forested backdrop with large Sitka spruce, Western hemlock, Douglas fir, and Red alder. We can hike this trail later in the day since this trail is lightly used.
Hiking naked is nothing new, although it is more common in Europe than in the U.S. Outdoor author Colin Fletcher wrote in his popular hiking books of enjoying hiking naked through the Grand Canyon and along the Pacific Crest Trail on hot days.
Note to hikers: This trail is in a National Forest where nudity is legal.

Cascade Head Naked Hike @ Cascade Head Naked Hike
Jul 25 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Due to the coronavirus, The Nature Conservancy had closed the Cascade Head Trail and remained closed for National Naked Hiking on June 21st. U.S. forest service will open the Siuslaw National Forest on July 15. On Saturday, July 25th we’ll once again Wander Bare up Cascade Head, truly an amazing place on the Oregon Coast.
Cascade Head trail is steep in areas 7 miles in and out with a 1200-foot elevation gain. Dogs are not permitted on this trail. Also, this is a moderately used trail, you may want to have a sarong to cover up with when we meet other hikers.
The climb steep in areas, sometimes on stairs through an old-growth coastal forest. Doug fir and spruce dominate the area. The trail crosses a couple of small streams on new bridges, then enters a virtual tunnel of undergrowth. Leaving the forest and enter the headland meadow. The views are immediately tremendous to the south. The Salmon River Estuary dominates an ocean view that extends to Lincoln City. There’s a small oasis of trees is a draw, then the trail again hits the open slopes. The trail traverses along the ridge at about the 500-foot level, finally coming to a northern view, down a cliff to the Pacific. From there, the trail switches back to begin climbing the slope. After several switchbacks, it levels out somewhat at the 1200-foot level at the upper viewpoint. There is a semi-secret field above the upper viewpoint. Where we can sunbathe, and enjoy the 360-degree views of the ocean and surrounding mountains. Expect 3 and a half to 4 hours.

The owners only ask not to be naked near the road or when in sight of the neighbors, other than that we have free reign of the refuge!

The Andrew Reasoner Wildlife Preserve Conservation Easement protects 294 acres of oak savannah and in the Long Tom River watershed. Seasonal creeks, rocky outcroppings, and a special forest management area provide a home for iconic Oregon white oak trees and Willamette Valley ponderosa pine, native birds, elks, deer, and more.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The oak woodlands on the property make it a great home for many species of wildlife native to the Willamette Valley. Because of the loss of most of the oak savannah habitat in the region, the remaining oaks like those found on the Andrew Reasoner Wildlife Preserve are increasingly important. Critical species on the property include acorn woodpecker, chipping sparrow, yellow-breasted chat, western bluebird, slender-billed nuthatch, Western gray squirrel, shaggy horkelia, and Hitchcock’s blue-eyed grass. Deer, bobcat, cougar, bear, rattlesnake, and many species of migratory birds also visit or make their homes on the property.

All Hail Marx and Lennon! (Groucho & John) @ Finley Wildlife Refuge
May 1 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Wandering Bare will be Celebrating May Day with a naked nature walk at Finley Wildlife Refuge. And pay honor to the two greatest social icons of all time. Groucho Marx – “I don’t want to belong to any club, that will accept me as a member.” And John Lennon – “You don’t need anybody to tell you who you are or what you are. You are what you are!”
(Weather and Authorities permitting*)

Finley Wildlife refuge is big, it’s really big with open spaces. Offering plenty of space to enjoy a secluded naked walk or wander bare. The refuge is usually deserted since most people visiting are there in the morning and evening when the birds and wildlife is more active. We have met a few textiled visitors in the past, it’s usually not a problem.

We will enter the reserve on the Beaver & Cattail Ponds trailhead located at a turnout off Bruce Road.
Beaver & Cattail Ponds Trail. We’ll enter the reserve, walking down a tree-lined service road to an old rock quarry site. Then through the Maple Knoll Research Natural Area and on the Beaver Pond.
At the interior service road or, “Campbell Lake Trail” this trail runs through the reserve and ties the Mill Hill Loop, Pigeon Butte Trails and the Campbell Board Walk.
We’ll have no addenda, just a chance to spend a peaceful afternoon wandering bare through natural world of Finley Wildlife Refuge.

* Weather and Authorities permitting. Weather, If is raining we’ll reschedule. Authorities permitting? “Question Authority” Up the revaluation!

Here is the link to the Finley trail map.

Third Annual Clothing Optional Blueberry Picking Day @ Terra Fluvia Blueberry Farm
Aug 1 @ 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

Terra Fluvia Blueberry Farm invites you to, the “Third Annual Clothing Optional Blueberry Picking Day!”
Why Pick Blueberries naked? It’s fun! Actives like Berry Picking and Gardening naked are second only to skinny-dipping, of family-friendly nudist activities. Picking berries is not only a simple joy but picking berries naked makes you feel as if your part of nature. It’s also nice, pleasant, relaxing, refreshing, exhilarating, exciting, and enjoyable.
There will be a $ 10.00-day fee, payable to:
Terra Fluvia Blueberry Farm
A Day of Unlimited you-pick access to Willamette Valley’s Oldest and Bluest Blueberries!
Please read this update.
The Coronavirus will probably still be an issue next summer. Terra Fluvia Blueberry Farm will be operating relatively normally this year, as they did last year with these adjustments. Cassady and Tory ask that all visitors please do their part.
Everyone will need to wash their hands upon entering and leaving the field. We’ll have a hand-washing station set up, along with other supplies too, including hand sanitizer.
Please maintain at least a 6-foot distance from everyone who is not part of your household, especially around the check-in table. Please wear a mask at the table while you’re signing in and out and weighing your berries (if you can, just have one household member do this part). We’ll be wiping down the table every 8 seconds, so don’t mind us.
If you are able, please feel free to bring your own buckets this year. We’ll provide them too as usual, but will need to clean and disinfect them after each use.
Unfortunately, we aren’t allowed to encourage people to sample until they find their favorite berries this year: the Dept of Ag says “do not eat fruit while picking,” and “do not touch fruit that you will not pick.” Dang. Sorry about that.
Don’t come if you are sick, or have been in contact with someone who is sick.
