New AANR Executive Director

AANR has hired a new Executive Director.  Here is his first week’s report.

WEEK ONE
What an exciting week it has been as AANR’s new executive director! Several people had used the phrase “like drinking from a firehose” when describing what to expect, and most of you can certainly relate to that thought as you think back to starting a new job, business opportunity, or relationship. The irony is that while beginning such an important new venture can feel daunting, it is also filled with excited anticipation, and that is the best way for me to describe my first week in the AANR office.

I can’t say enough about AANR’s awesome staff. Although they crammed my poor head with volumes of information (the firehose), they also made me feel warmly welcomed and proud to be a part of the team (the refreshing drink). And that sentiment also goes to the many people in our AANR family who have already reached out to welcome me and wish me their best. I thank you all for your confidence and trust.
The main thought that I want to convey in my first weekly report is that I am here for you. I am here to listen, to support, to offer advice and creativity, and to generally make AANR work for you as you spread the word about wholesome and fun nude recreation in your own spheres of influence. Together, we are going to take AANR and nude recreation into the future by showing people today how they can enjoy freedom, fun, and a family community. I am dedicated to doing whatever it takes to see AANR succeed in its mission, and I am looking forward to some of our best years ahead. Are you ready? I am. Let’s go!

Hurry! Hurry!  Deadlines are Looming!

With the exception of a small, hardworking staff, all of the work that AANR does is done by volunteers.  One good way that we have to reward them is with our honor awards.  Too often, no awards are given, because no one takes the time to nominate anyone.  The deadlines for Hall of Fame, Man and Woman of the Year is March 15.  That is in less than two weeks.  So do it NOW.

You can find out more information and submit your nominations online at  Hall of Fame or  Man/Woman of the Year. This information is in the members area of the website.  The password can be found on the calendar page of the Nudescene.  Or you can email president@aanr-nw.org to get it if you need it.

The Hall of Fame Award is the highest honor the region can award a member. It is based on service of a magnitude above average to AANR, AANR Northwest and nudism. It is not intended to recognize club service unless such service was of direct benefit to AANR and AANR Northwest. Nominees must have ten years continuous membership in AANR, with a minimum of five years in AANR Northwest. The deadline for submitting a nomination is March 15.

The Man/Woman of the Year award is given to a man and to a woman for their contribution in promoting and/or furthering nudism at the regional level during the previous calendar year. Recipients will be presented with
plaques at the AANR Northwest convention. Nominees must be AANR Northwest members but need
not be members of the club that nominates them.

Northwest Nominations

AANR-NW will be electing new officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) at the 2016 AANR Northwest Region convention by vote of attending delegates. The convention will be held in July at Sun Meadow Resort in Idaho. The AANR-NW Nominations Committee is actively seeking qualified candidates for these positions. Can you please get the word out to your club members, using and/or disseminating the attachments as appropriate for your club. This is an opportunity for your club to meaningfully participate in AANR-NW leadership by providing qualified nominees for the AANR-NW officer positions. Please contact me by email at “nominations-chair@aanr-nw.org” if you have any questions or need additional information.
