During the AANR-NW convention in July, two honorees were named member of the year.
The member of the year award is given to a man or a woman for their contribution in promoting and/or furthering nudism at the regional level during the previous calendar year. Recipients will be presented with plaques at the AANR Northwest convention. Nominees must be AANR Northwest members but need not be members of the club that nominates them.
Judith King is a member of Sun Rovers and was nominated by Karen Lahey of the SLUGS.
When Bare Spirits folded, Judith contacted its members and personally encouraged them to join Sun Rovers or another AANR club. All but two of them were retained. While this is a big win for Sun Rovers, it is also a huge win for AANR-NW. Keeping these members as members of a club will make it less likely that the region will lose them as AANR members. Thank you Judith. Additionally, Judith, along with Mike Parker, put in significant effort in planning the March non-landed group gathering at the Willamettans. Members from four clubs (Sun Rovers, Hidden Springs, The Rogue Suncatchers and SLUGS) gathered to meet and have fun. This gathering is evidence about how the Northwest can work together.
Bill Bisbee is a member of Montana Naturists Organization and was nominated by Dave Smith of Kaniksu Family Nudist Ranch.
Bill Bisbee has almost single-handed kept the naturist movement in Montana alive. He has served as President, Director, and every other position, all at the same time to keep nudist opportunities available in his state. He spends countless hours planning and carrying out activities and trips for the club in his beautiful home state. He has submitted excellent suggestions to the national organization to celebrate nudist rights on Independence Day.
Bill has continued through this year to persevere to continue these activities to support nudism in Montana, and is genuinely deserving of this recognition.
